AMD's new Catalyst 11.10 Preview driver is optimized for the Battlefield 3 Open Beta for Radeon HD 6000 and Radeon HD 5000 Series GPUs.
Wie am Montag via Twitter versprochen hat AMD einen so genannten "Preview"-Treiber (Catalyst 11.10) bereitgestellt, der die Performance von GPUs der Serien Radeon HD 6000 und Radeon HD 5000 für die Beta-Version von Battlefield 3 optimieren soll. Die offizielle Catalyst-Version 11.9 sollte übrigens heute veröffentlicht werden.
AMD hat zwar keine expliziten Angaben zum genauen Umfang der Leistungssteigerungen gemacht, gab aber an, dass man sowohl beim Spielen mit Anwendungsgesteuertem Anti-Aliasing als auch ohne Anti-Aliasing bessere Resultate erwarten darf – und das soll sowohl für Single- als auch für Multi-GPU-Konfigurationen (CrossFire) gelten.
Parallel dazu hat Nvidia den Beta-Treiber 285.38 veröffentlicht, der wiederum Geforce-Grafikkarten zu mehr Performance in Battlefield 3 verhelfen soll. Laut Nvidia sollen dabei im Vergleich zur Treiberversion 285.27 Leistungssteigerungen von bis zu 38 Prozent drin sein. Wer schauen will, ob sein Rechner – beziehungsweise dessen Grafikkarte – überhaupt für Battlefield 3 fit ist, kann ja mal Nvidias GPU Analyser (Beta) anwerfen.
Zusätzlich hat Nvidia nach eigener Angabe auch das SLI-Profil für Battlefield 3 einem Update unterzogen, so dass Multi-GPU-Konfiguratonen beste Performance liefern sollen. Der Beta-Treiber enthält außerdem überarbeitete SLI-Profile für Batman: Arkham City, Dead Island und Dragon Age II sowie neue Profile für Diablo III, Need For Speed: The Run und Saints Row: The Third. Und wer id's für nächsten Monat erwarteten Shooter Rage spielen will, soll mit dem neuen Beta-Treiber ebenfalls bestens bedient sein, da der die beste Performance für Rage bieten soll.
